Moistener System and Components

The entire moistener system serves two functions: to keep the spindles clean and slick for efficient doffing. There is no other system on the machine more overlooked than the moistener system. Wrapped spindles and chunked doffers are often blamed on the doffers themselves, when in fact it was due to an improperly maintained moistener system. |

Tama RMW cotton wrap was developed to complement the John Deere 7760, CP690 and CS690 cotton harvesters. Tama RMW stands up to extreme temperatures and operational demands during the wrapping process to seal and protect cotton modules. |
|

Modules are wrapped three times within the onboard module builder, ensuring cotton fiber and seed protection. Each portion of wrap contains two segments of linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) film, a non-tacky layer, followed by two tacky layers which keeps the round modules in a uniform shape, as well as safe from dust and rain.
The patented Z-Lock system ensures the tapered end of the wrap is secure in high winds and rain. |

Proper adjustment of the cotton feeder belt is critical for performance and reliability of the round module cotton harvester. If the feeder belt tension is set too loose, the belt can slip. If it is set too tight, damage to the lace and/or belt can occur. The spring tension feeder belt kit makes it easier to properly set the feeder belt tension during machine operation. |

9. Gate Latch Wear Plate Kit (AKK21134) |

|
On 7760 and CP690 cotton pickers prior to MY16, the gate latch hook end can wear to a point where the gate will not latch or will unlatch during module formation. The gate latch wear plate provides heat-treated hardened plates and mounting plate which welds over the hook. These plates provide replaceable wear surfaces which provide longer wear at the critical latch point. |

The new wrap fingers are made out of a thinner material that allows the fingers to flex back to a flat position to prevent a wrap misfeed. They are also stronger to prevent cracking and breaking in cold weather. |
