John Deere Round Baler Belts

Round balers now have three options for baler belts: Diamond Tread, DiamondTough™, and DiamondTough™ Pro. |
Diamond Tread:
|
Diamond Tread has been a proven belt and was introduced with the 5 series balers. |
|
Diamond Tread Features: 1. Nylon and polyester fabric provide added strength to the belt carcass
2. Four protective rubber mats seal the separate layers of nylon and polyester fabric
3. Nylon fabric in the center runs lengthwise to prevent stretching under heavy load
4. All layers are vulcanized through a special process
5. Flat inside layer glides smoothly over rollers without heat build-up |

DiamondTough™
|
DiamondTough™ baler belts were introduced with the 8 series balers. |
|
DiamondTough™ Features 1. Nylon-fill cords provide superior puncture and tear resistance along with excellent fastener-holding strength
2. Heavy-duty polyester straight-wrap cords located between the fill cords provide excellent resistance to punctures and tears
3. Polyester surface wrap cords provide abuse resistance and flexibility over small baler rollers
4. Nylon binder wrap cords provide fabric integrity and contribute to abuse-resistance properties |

|
DiamondTough™ Pro baler belts are available through service parts. |
|
DiamondTough™ Pro Features 1. Use a special rubber compound designed for excellent resistance to cutting, gouging, and abrasion 2. Same compound used in tough conveyor belt applications 3. Most wear and tear resistant belt in the industry 4. Identified by a green stripe 5. Provides greater performance, increased uptime, and reduced cost of operation in tough baling conditions |

Wear Characteristics and Maintenance Tips
|
Self-cleaning, three-step tread design provides build-in wear indicators. |
|
Top Step (1.4 mm) – provides excellent stem contact for control and bale starting.
Middle Step (1.4 mm) – when top step is worn, bale starting may be adversely affected in certain crops.
Bottom Step (1.4 mm) – when top and middle steps are worn, the belt should be replaced to eliminate problems and possible damage by the fasteners. |

Rounded Edges – poor belt tracking Accelerated splice and pin wear – crop wrapped on rolls (silage or straw) Splice and hooks pulling out – gate latch adjustments (belt tracking) Ply separations – poor bale shape (monitor adjustment or driving technique) |
