Engine Replacement-Remanufactured
Engine
An alternative to engine overhaul is replacing the
engine with a John Deere Reman engine. These engines have been
remanufactured to original equipment specifications, using genuine John Deere
parts. Consider installing a John Deere Reman engine when:
·
The engine begins to experience power loss.
·
The engine is hard to start due to low cranking compression.
·
The engine begins to smoke and use excessive amounts of oil.
Refer to the Technical Manual for acceptable oil consumption.
·
The engine has major component failure.
·
Repair is needed on a major component and engine replacement is
more cost effective than an overhaul.
·
Repair time is critical and engine replacement is quicker than
an engine overhaul.
·
The engine has high usage hours and the owner wants to take
preventive measures to avoid high-cost repairs and costly downtime.
Most John Deere Reman engines are available in
"Basic" and "Complete" configurations. The
"Complete" configuration includes an air system, fuel system, and
engine damper.
All John Deere Reman engines are performance
tested before shipment, and include a 12-month, unlimited-hour warranty.
Labor is covered by the warranty if a John Deere dealer installed the engine.
